The International Conference on Surface Finishing Technology and Surface Engineering (ICSFT) is a major academic conference organized by the Committee for Surface Finishing Technology of the Chinese Production Engineering Institute (CPEI). The ICSFT2010 will be held from 5 to 7 November, 2010 in Guangzhou, China.


The aim of the ICSFT2010 is to offer an opportunity to bring together worldwide academic researchers and industrial practitioners for the exchange of information on the latest development and applications in advanced surface engineering and surface finishing technology, and to promote friendship, interdisciplinary research and research collaborations.


The ICSFT2010 organization welcomes academic researchers and industrial practitioners from around the world to participate in the international event in Guangzhou, China.



  Areas of Interest


The theme of the conference is "Green surface finishing technology and application for the powerful manufacturing country".

Papers are sought in, but not limited to, the following areas:

  1. Fundamental studies of surface finishing technologies (including lapping, polishing, loose abrasive machining, abrasive flow polishing etc.)
  2. Modelling and simulation studies of the processes and mechanisms in super-finish surface formation
  3. Advanced deburring techniques and theories
  4. Precision and super-precision grinding and polishing techniques for advanced materials (crystals, industrial ceramics, optical glasses, composites etc.)；
  5. Advanced abrasives and equipment for surface finishing
  6. Ecological and environmentally-friendly coolants and cooling techniques for surface finishing processes
  7. Advanced measuring and evaluation techniques for surface integrity
  8. Advanced techniques and fundamental studies for enhancing component surface properties and characteristics through the improvement of material surface structure and properties (with such techniques as case hardening, ion implantation and other physical & chemical methods)
  9. Finishing processes and applications of typical parts
